Sroka&#8217;s new DW will allow you to optimize the low range in Light Wind, and to take off very early in Downwind.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/srokacompany.com\/en\/produit\/dw-72-board-elite-range\/\">The board type for Down Wind and ultra Light Wingfoil or sup foil.<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Starting early means opting for a long, straight board. The wider the board, the more drag it will generate in the water. The wider the board, the more drag it will generate in the water, slowing you down during take-off. Opting for a long, narrow board reduces drag, allowing you to accelerate with little wind, or with few waves in the case of Down Wind.<\/p>\n<h3>But why?<\/h3>\n<p>Drag in water, with its higher viscosity than air and its density 800 times greater than air, is proportional to the board&#8217;s frontal contact area, so in practice, a wide board will have a larger frontal area and therefore greater drag, while length helps limit turbulence as the board glides through the water.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n          <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"image-annotation-text-container image-annotation-text-left\">\n  <div class=\"image-annotation-text-img\">\n        \n    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/srokacompany.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/LW-57-sur-87-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"board mid-length wing foil\" \/>\n  <\/div>\n  <div class=\"image-annotation-text-text-container\">\n        <div class=\"image-annotation-text-description\"><h3>What&#8217;s the difference between LW and DW?<\/h3>\n<p>The LW: this <a href=\"https:\/\/srokacompany.com\/en\/produit\/board-wing-foil-lw-57-66-mid-length-elite-range\/\">board is specifically designed for Light Wind at Wing foil<\/a>, and in general for versatile Wingfoil practice. It will enable you to do everything in all conditions, from five to 35 knots, depending on the size. The DW: This will enable you to glide in the least wind possible for Lighwind, but above all it will allow you to be placed on a rail to enable you to take off in the slightest Bump during your practice Downwind. So, by definition, it&#8217;s less versatile and less easy, but it&#8217;ll help you get the most out of your Light Wind and Downwind performances. The DW is currently available in two models:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"auto\">The 7&#8217;2 Qui, with its 110-litre, 20-inch width, offers exceptional glide and therefore superior performance.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"auto\">The generous 7&#8217;2W Plus, with its 22-inch width and 130-liter capacity, gives access to Down Wind for heavier builders, as well as Light Wind for these same builders, while limiting the difficulty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to note that every board in Sroka&#8217;s elite range features an exceptionally high quality ring edge, so you can carry your new toy without any risk.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n          <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"titre-text-cta-container\">\n      <h2 class=\"titre-text-cta-titre sommaire-titles\">How do you take off efficiently and in the least amount of wind possible with a board from Downwind?<\/h2>\n    <div class=\"titre-text-cta-text\"><p>These boards are made to glide over water, and it&#8217;s their most crucial advantage that you need to use when riding Ultra Light Wind. Let&#8217;s take an example: an 88 kg sailor on a DW 7&#8217;2 with a foil of 1350 and a Wing of 7 m\u00b2 can take off in five knots of wind if he applies the following method. Once standing on the board, pump with the Wing, only in such a way as to make the board slide on the surface of the water. Once you&#8217;ve built up speed simultaneously, pump three or four large pumps with the Bouygues, and at the same time pump with the Foil so as to come to a perch at the top of the Foil, that&#8217;s all you need to do &#8211; just glide along and enjoy your session. With this method, an 88 kg weightlifter can take off in five knots with the aforementioned equipment. No more excuses on the lake or in summer on the ocean.
