SROKA Downwind Foil Equipment

Downwind requires a board that takes off very early and a foil that glides for a long time. Our equipment is developed in France and tested on the water by Bruno Sroka, triple world champion in Kitesurfing and Kitefoil.

Which Downwind board to choose?

• DW 7'2 (Elite range): a true 4x4, for all sports (SUP foil, wing and parawing). The 7'2 x 22" (125 L) version is the easiest: more stable, it suits larger riders and anyone looking for ease. It also comes in 7'2 x 20" (110 L).
• DW 8'3 V2 (Elite range): the most downwind-oriented. It takes off very early, by paddle, in wing as well as parawing, but turns a bit less well. It's the board for downwind paddle purists. Available in 18.5" (115 L) and 20" (125 L).

Which foil for Downwind?

• Foil UHA range: ultra high aspect (aspect ratio of 11), it takes off early and glides for a long time. We recommend a 70 cm mast. To get started easily, go for a UHA front wing of 1260 cm², or 1100 cm² if conditions are strong. Then, 800 cm² is enough in good conditions, and the 1550 cm² is useful in very light wind or for a heavier rider. As your level progresses, the more you reduce the surface to gain performance.
• DW front wings: aspect ratio of 14, high modulus carbon prepreg, for confirmed to expert riders. The DW 900 for lift, the DW 700 for responsiveness.
• Carbon foils: to gain in rigidity, switch to the HM Elite carbon foil 14 mm or the Solo HM carbon foil 16 mm.

Downwind by paddle, in wing or parawing

Sicherheit beim Downwind

Beim Downwind entfernen Sie sich von Ihrem Ausgangspunkt und kommen weiter die Küste hinunter an. Fahren Sie niemals allein, benachrichtigen Sie jemanden über Ihre Route und Ihren Ankunftspunkt, und überprüfen Sie das Wetter vor der Abfahrt.
