The wind, the earth, the ocean, the sand, and nature in general are our inspirations for developing, testing, and sharing with you the products we design. We live on the Brittany coast (France) and adapt our lives according to Mother Nature. Our goal is to reconnect people with nature by producing the best equipment at the most accessible price. We manufacture quality, accessible products for exploring any body of water in the world. Since 2013, we have been testing and developing SUPs, and equipment for KiteFoil, SurfFoil, SUP Foil, WindFoil, WingFoil, WakeFoil, and Kitesurf. Our mission is to advance the watersports sector, while respecting our planet as much as possible.
Our priority: the quality and durability of our SROKA products
Let's be honest, the watersports sector has a significant environmental footprint. Buy better, to use longer: this is the guiding principle for us in the design process of our SROKA products. By opting for quality watersports equipment, we will use it longer, and thus contribute to waste reduction. Our priority: the quality and durability of our products.
What are the risks of buying entry-level, low-cost equipment?
We can find equipment at all price points on the market, and it's sometimes difficult to navigate. It's tempting to opt for the cheapest, thinking that you'll move on to a more expensive model once you've reached a higher skill level. This logic will generally not be the most cost-effective in the medium or long term. Indeed, an abnormally low price should always raise a red flag. A product offered at a price 40%, 50% less than competitors often signals that certain criteria are not being met: quality, product durability, manufacturing conditions, warranty, or simply the time spent testing and prototyping…
For example, a low-quality board can quickly cost you more than a slightly more expensive one. If the quality is lacking, you may constantly need to make repairs. Then, the original cost skyrockets, in addition to lost time and structural quality, and you'll eventually resign yourself to replacing your gear, frustrated and disappointed with your purchase.
A quality rigid board will last you for years. We can take the example of Windsurf boards, still on the water twenty years later. As for inflatable boards, they must be solid to last over time but also glide well. It will be impossible to paddle on a board that resembles an "inflatable mattress."
Example: everyone wants a lightweight board, but lightweight means more fragile because less raw material is used inside. At SROKA, we reinforce our boards using specific glues with reinforced PVC (Zodiac boat type). This construction guarantees superior longevity for our products.
It is on these types of aspects that the price-quality ratio is important. Designing robust and high-performance products is expensive. Therefore, understand that a low-cost product cannot always cover the price of such manufacturing. It will necessarily be necessary to cut corners on the quality and quantity of raw materials.
