A SUP foil board is designed to fly above the water thanks to a foil attached to the bottom. It has a foil box (US box rails), a shorter and wider shape, a specific hull (often double concave), and a stiffer construction. In contrast, a classic SUP board is only intended for paddling on the water, without taking off.

The choice depends on your size and skill level.

• Beginner: volume = weight + 30 liters minimum
• Intermediate: volume = weight + 15 to 20 L
• Advanced: volume close to or equal to body weight

For example, an 80 kg rider can start with a 110 L board, while an expert can switch to 90–95 L.

Yes, some SUP foil boards allow you to practice surf foiling, especially in small waves. However, they remain longer than pure surf foil boards, which makes them less maneuverable. For more committed surfing, a shorter board (like our wing foil models) will be more suitable.

Yes, that's the whole point of SUP foiling. You can ride on soft waves or use chop and bumps to fly, without needing wind. It's an excellent option for those who don't want to depend on weather conditions.

To make the most of small waves, opt for avoluminous board (100–130 L)with good width and a stable shape. This allows you to pick up speed when paddling, take off early, and maintain stability during the ride.

For downwind riding, it is recommended to use a foil with a high aspect ratio front wing to facilitate takeoff and maintain stability. Recommended front wing sizes for beginners are generally between 1260 cm² and 1500 cm² with a high aspect ratio.

Yes. Thanks to its large volume, the SUP foil board is suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. It offers an excellent compromise between paddling stability, easy take-off, and smooth glide.

Some SUP foil boards allow for pumping once airborne, but they are not optimized for pure pumping starts (without waves or paddling). For 100% pump foiling, it is better to use a smaller, stiffer board.
