Choosing yourwing foilis crucial for making good progress and maximizing your enjoyment on the water. Here are our tips to guide you:

1. 
   Your level and weight:
   
   
   Beginner:Opt for a larger wing (around 5m² to 6m² for an average weight) which offers more lift and stability. It will help you get started more easily and familiarize yourself with the technique. Ease of relaunching is also a plus.
   Intermediate/Advanced:You can choose from a wider range of sizes depending on the conditions. Smaller kites (3m² to 4m²) will offer more maneuverability and speed, while intermediate sizes (4.5m² to 5.5m²) will be more versatile.
   
   
2. 
   Prevailing Wind Conditions:
   
   
   Light wind (less than 15 knots):A large wing (5.5m² to 7m²) will be necessary to generate enough power and take off.
   Moderate Wind (15-25 knots):Most riders use medium-sized kites (4m² to 5.5m²). This is the most versatile range.
   Strong Wind (over 25 knots):A small wing (2.5m² to 3.5m²) is essential to avoid being overpowered, to better control and to sail comfortably.

   The Desired Practice Program:
   
   
   Freeride / Touring:Versatile wings, neither too big nor too small, offering a good compromise between lift and maneuverability.
   Wave / Freestyle:Opt for more compact and responsive wings that can be easily "neutralized" so as not to hinder maneuvers. Lightness is an advantage.
   Race / Performance:Look for wings with a tighter profile and rigid materials (like Dyneema for our Elite) to maximize speed and upwind performance.

   Dacron:This is the standard material, very strong and offering a good compromise between weight and durability. Ideal for versatility and beginners.
   Dyneema (for our Sroka V4 Elite wings):Lighter and more rigid, it offers improved responsiveness and enhanced performance. Perfect for those seeking performance and precision.
   Good overall wing rigidity (high inflation, solid center strut) is essential for stability and power transmission.

   The Handles:
   
   
   Soft grips:Lighter and more comfortable for long sessions, but may lack precision.
   Rigid handles (like on Sroka wings):They offer better direct control, better power transmission and are ideal for maneuvers and freestyle.

   Prices vary depending on size, materials, and technologies used. Set your budget, but keep in mind that investing in a quality wing will ensure greater durability and a better experience.
   
   

The wing size depends on the rider's weight, wind conditions, and skill level. In other words, if a 55kg rider uses a 4m² wing, an 85kg rider would typically use a 6m² wing under the same conditions. It's recommended to have a quiver of at least two wings to cover the widest possible wind range. The most common quivers are 5m and 3.4m, 3.4m and 4.5m, or 6m and 4.5m, depending on rider size, weather conditions, and personal preference. It's important to choose a quality wing, even though all wings may seem similar at first glance; this isn't necessarily the case.

The maintenance of aWingfoil wingProper maintenance is essential for preserving your wing over time. It is recommended to rinse your wing with fresh water after each session and allow it to dry completely to minimize wear and tear. If you cannot dry it thoroughly, do not rinse your wing. Furthermore, do not store wings that are damp or covered in sand.

Secure your wing properly when leaving it on the beach to prevent it from flapping or flying off on a foil and tearing.

There are many brands ofwing foil wingson the market. You might say: they all look alike? From the outside, you'll have a lot of trouble seeing the differences. However, between the wingspan, the wing's draft, the leech tension, the lightness, the strength, the responsiveness, the acceleration capacity, the ease of dumping… there are many differences, some of which are visible from the outside but will be greatly felt while sailing.

In summary, there are two trends in the use of materials. On the leading edge of the wing, Dacron is used either to achieve good performance characteristics while maintaining an affordable price.
We can use either Alula or Dyneema on the wing's leading edge to increase stiffness and therefore pumping efficiency. We chose to use Dyneema for the entire inflatable structure, which allows us to increase pressures and maintain a smaller bladder size than Dacron.

Similarly, the canopy uses different materials. There are different qualities of spinnaker fabric. The thicker the spinnaker, the stiffer and more durable it will be. But it will also be heavier. So, a delicate balance must be struck between weight, stiffness, and durability.

In terms of performance, the wing profile is the primary factor determining wingfoil performance. Some wings get up to speed very early but quickly reach their maximum speed. Others are better suited for speed.

Our goal was to create a versatile wing that allows for relatively early takeoff while still delivering a great sense of speed. The V4 will be perfect for anyone looking for a good all-around wing. The V4 Elite will be designed for those who want to push the performance further with a faster, more streamlined wing with less drag.
