Pump foil board: what makes the difference
In Pumping, the board doesn't serve to float: you take off directly in flight from a dock. What matters is rigidity, lightness and a short format. A board that's too flexible deforms with each stroke and you lose energy. A board that's too heavy or too long adds inertia and tires you faster.

Which foil to pair with your board?
To learn dockstart, the High Aspect 2000 wing is the simplest: it's the one in the beginner Pumping kit. The Pumping Foil wings form a performance range: the 2200 is suitable if you already come from foil (Wing foil, Surf foil, Kite foil) and heavier riders, the 1750 as well, and the 1500 is for experienced Pumping riders and lighter riders.
Pumping parawing: one board, two practices
Keep the Pump Board 80 V2 and the same foil, and add a parawing as soon as a little wind picks up: you alternate Pumping and navigation, without needing a larger board.
Getting started with dockstart
Choose a low and clear dock, push hard at the start, pump hard on the first 4 or 5 strokes then more gently, and look ahead. The whole method is in our tutorial dockstart in Pumping, step-by-step method, and the complete guide in Pumping: the guide to get started and progress.
Our Pumping boards and wings are designed and tested in Brittany by Bruno Sroka and his team.
