Parawing foils

A Parawing foil is designed to offer maximum glide (glide) and generate lift at very low speeds. Since takeoff is performed by paddling or under the light pull of an independent sail, the foil must rise quickly without requiring excessive initial speed. Optimized hydrodynamic profiles are favored, minimizing drag to glide as long as possible on wave energy.

The term High Aspectrefers to a long, narrow front wing (high aspect ratio). In Parawing, these wings are the norm because they offer exceptional performance: they significantly reduce water drag, allow flight to be maintained over very long distances without using the sail (in pure downwind mode), and are extremely efficient at pumping to connect swells.

Our S-Foil foils are natively compatible with all our Sroka parawing boards, whether inflatable or rigid. The attachment system is standardized to simplify assembly and ensure optimal strength while riding. If you are using a board from another brand, please check that the tuttle box or power box is compatible with our attachment system before purchasing.

For the Parawing, the standard mast length is generally between 75 cm and 85 cm. A mast of this size provides the necessary height to glide over chop without the board touching the water (touch-and-go) and allows for banking in turns. It also remains short enough to maintain excellent control of the board during the paddling phase before takeoff.

The choice depends on your expectations in terms of feel and budget:

• Aluminum:Economical, robust, and very rigid, it's an excellent option for beginners to progress without constraint.
• Carbon (high modulus):Lighter, it offers instant responsiveness. The complete absence of dynamic flex allows 100% of your leg energy to be transmitted to the foil when pumping, making flying much less physical and more precise.

The stabilizer (the rear wing) acts as the rudder and altitude control for your foil. A large stabilizer provides longitudinal stability (the foil is more stable and less playful) and makes take-off easier. A smaller stabilizer reduces drag for increased top speed and frees up the foil for much sharper and smoother turns.

Yes, absolutely. The qualities required for the Parawing (infinite glide, early takeoff) are exactly the same as those sought after in Light Wind Wingfoiling(ultra-light wind) or Downwind SUP Foil / Surf Foil. A modular foil plane will allow you to practice these different disciplines by simply changing the board or propulsion system.

A thick wing profile generates strong lift even at very low speeds and tolerates placement errors, which makes tow-in take-offs safer. Conversely, a very thin profile (like on Ultra High Aspectprofiles) offers exceptional water penetration to achieve high speeds and glide longer, but requires more initial speed to initiate flight.

Adjusting the foil in your board's double US tracks changes the balance of your stance:

• Towards the front:You increase lift under the front foot, which helps the board get out of the water earlier in light wind (ideal for beginners).
• Towards the back:You make the foil more stable and gain control when the wind picks up or the swell becomes very fast, thus avoiding unwanted foil breaches.
