For the Wing Foil Promo Tour 2021 , our team visited Lake Soustons on Sunday, November 7, 2021. For this edition, the Soustons Marensin Sailing Club hosted numerous wing foil brands, allowing us to present and let you test our products.

Although the event focused on wing foiling, the Dock Start was a huge success that day, almost stealing the show from the FFV's new sport. The Dock Start involves running uphill from a pontoon to launch yourself onto your foil board and pump away from the shore. The rider can then glide, make turns, or ride in the wake of a boat.

In this context, an informal pumping contest was organized. The goal was to complete a marked course as quickly as possible and return to the starting pontoon.

Our ambassador Gabriel Bachelet, who was there to represent us, was able to showcase these performances as a rider, as well as those of our new High Aspect 1190 Lift foil. In fact, Gabriel took first place, completing the course in 26.08 seconds. Equipped with the S-Foil HA 1190L (with a 70cm mast) and the Fast Flyer 4'6 board, we are proud to highlight the capabilities of our products.

This record confirms all the research and development work behind this HA foil, as well as its performance and quality. 👍

Find in these articles how to properly learn to pump on a foil , or how to start from a dock start.

Your learning and progression abilities will also depend on your equipment. To pump while foil surfing, you'll need a foil that provides lift and is maneuverable, and a small, lightweight board. Here are some tips for choosing the right equipment:

    The foil

When you start from a dock start, your initial speed is relatively limited and requires a wing that lifts well, to make takeoff easier.

If you're new to surf foiling or pumping, you can choose between our S-Foil XL (1750 cm²) and XXL (2000 cm²) models in Mid Aspect . The 1750 is very versatile, allowing you to get up on the foil quickly in small, mushy waves, and is suitable for riders weighing between 70 and 90 kg. It's our most interesting model in terms of progression. The 2000 (XXL) wing is for larger riders who want to get started easily. You'll be able to get up on the foil in less powerful waves. It's also suitable for beginners using dock starts.

If you're looking for highly efficient lift, enhanced technique, and versatility, the S-Foil High Aspect 1350 Lift is an excellent compromise for highly effective pumping with less effort. Its elongated aspect ratio guarantees increased speed, like a glider, allowing you to endlessly reconnect with the waves.

    The board

A small board with low volume will be easier to handle from a dock start. We recommend a short, compact board. The lighter the board, the better your chances of successfully pumping. A wake foil board like the Pocket Foilboard (17 liters) is very versatile and will satisfy those eager to learn or progress to the next level in foiling.
