W-Foil - Wind Foil Freeride Performance

The W-Foil SROKA is the Windfoil freeride designed to combine performance and accessibility. Designed by J.B. Marchand — shaper of the world's fastest Windsurf — it features a 1000 cm² front wing 100% Carbon Pre-preg, a 60-micron anodized Aluminum mast and a monolithic fuselage carved from solid material. Available with 85 cm or 100 cm mast.

We developed the W-foil 2020 by combining performance and accessibility to stay true to our foil democratization approach.

We selected the best Carbon and Aluminum materials for this Windfoil and developed a new high-speed freeride front wing profile that performs exceptionally well despite its 1000 cm² surface area. For better control, we refined the back wing to provide excellent stability. Our wings are 100% Carbon Pre-preg, with no foam inside, to guarantee exceptional rigidity and strength. The mast is T6061 Aluminum with 60-micron anodization to ensure the best rigidity possible for this material. Finally, the fuselage is monolithic Aluminum — meaning carved directly from solid material to guarantee maximum rigidity on this heavily-stressed hydrofoil element. We particularly focused on reducing water drag to optimize this Windfoil's performance.

We chose a 1000 cm² front wing because this surface area allows for very early takeoff in light wind (6 knots) while delivering excellent speed. The wings are attached underneath the fuselage with three stainless steel screws for rock-solid foil hold at high speed. The mast slots into an insert that matches its shape and is secured with 3 large screws (M8).

To develop this wing profile, we tested numerous market wings and created different prototypes with a clearly defined objective: increase stability at low and high speed. Each wing was tested in hydrodynamic simulation to optimize performance. We completely redesigned the stabilizer to provide better longitudinal and lateral stability. We were very pleasantly surprised by the W-Foil 2020's speed performance, which will not leave anyone indifferent.

We conducted tests with foil beginners. With the right settings, on their second run they started flying above the water.
