Program

This 7’2 DW range is a true 4×4 of the seas.

Downwind, Wing foilSup foil, Parawing

  • Wing foilIf you’re sailing on a lake or in very light wind conditions, opt for the DW range to take off from 5 knots of wind with a large wing and a foil that glides enormously. OR go Downwind with a small, light and easy-to-handle wing.
  • Downwind : The starting speed of these DW boards combined with their good volume make them exceptional for downwind riding. Start very early whatever the conditions, optimize speed with exceptional glide. It will also amaze you on swell trains. With a smaller foil, acceleration will be phenomenal.
  • Sup foil: a board that’ll let you take on every little swell. Start early, pump easily, carve, it will excel in sup foil to let you catch every wave.
  • In Para Wing: leave early, fold your kite and glide endlessly on the swell trains.

Presentation

Fly effortlessly! Tired of watching others sail?

Do you practice different downwind disciplines ( Sup foil, Downwind, Free fly downwind or parawing) and/or are you looking for a board to sail in Ultra light wind, and are you looking for one board to do it all?

You won’t have any more excuses! The DW has been designed for riders who want to ride Ultra light wind or downwind in all its dimensions: with a wing, with a paddle or with a para wing. Whatever the discipline. A single board allows you to practice all the downwind disciplines.

Imagine flying like a bird over wave crests in Sup foil Downwind . The DW Range has been developed to provide you with disconcerting ease and ease for foiling downwind.

We’ve deliberately kept the width of these boards reasonable to make them accessible and scalable to your level. The 7’2W is 22 inches wide, giving you excellent stability. The 7’2 x 20 will be more technical and reserved for light or demanding riders.

In order for a board to leave early, you need to reduce its area of friction with the water. The width of the board is the main factor. But this same width will give stability in the water. A compromise must therefore be found.

Downwinding early requires little board width. Generally, when downwinding, it is windy and therefore the water is choppy. Downwind boards that are too narrow will be very unstable and will not allow you to reach your full potential. To do this, we opted for two board widths: 20 inches wide for the more experienced and 22 inches wide for the heaviest or those looking to evolve easily in all conditions.

The high speed of this type of board will allow the rider to choose a smaller foil which, when in the air, will continue to accelerate from bump to bump.

This new way of sliding requires a little practice to master the starting technique. Well controlled, you will sail from ridge to ridge using only the power of the wind swell. Optimize your Ultra light wind or carving sessions even more in the waves with this DW range. Gliding endlessly for miles will no longer be a dream but reality!

Shape

  • The slim, stretched outline and cleanly contoured hull make it incredibly easy to reach optimum take-off speed.
  • The US rails are more advanced on the DW range, this gives a better distribution of the overall in-flight volume of the board. This provides more balance in the take-off phase, with less displacement on the board. Control will be better in carving with less length in front of the board, in pumping with better front-to-back distribution or in wing downwind. The pressure on the feet will be better distributed for better balance.
  • The double concave on the front re-stabilizes the board without speed and allows the acceleration of the water trickles in the gear pick-up phase.
  • The pintel on the tail, combined with the bavels, improves direction and separation from the water, helps in the take-off phase and reduces the declaration of touchdowns.
  • On this type of board, we’ve maximized the flatness of the hull to give you maximum stability.

Construction

To guarantee the longevity of our products over time, we have chosen a high-quality construction.

  • Carbon sandwich with PVC and Carbon under the pads : Underneath the pads there is a carbon sandwich with 3 mm of PVC. Wrapped in 3 layers of carbon on the rails for maximum rigidity.
  • The deck and hull are covered with 2 layers of 160g of 160g carbon with carbon reinforcement at the US rails.
  • 3 layers of carbons on the rails.
  • Reinforced Strap Inserts : All strap inserts are securely bonded into PVC blocks for unmatched rigidity and strength.
  • Reinforced US rails: US rails are bonded into PVC blocks that extend all the way to the deck, eliminating the polystyrene underneath the housings for added strength when jumping.
  • Flat hull with a constant curve and a double concave in front for a quick and efficient take-off.
  • Maximizing the volume in the center of the board for the most useful volume.
  • The 30 straps inserts allow complete customization of their position according to the practice (the straps position is different for kitefoil and wakefoil or for surfing foil).
  • Cover included: All our boards come with a top-of-the-range cover with 10 mm thick foam (top, bottom and blanks) to protect your precious equipment.

Can you make prone with this board from Downwind?

When paddling, without any problem, you can do prone with this type of board. You’ll set off early to cover kilometers on a downwind prone.

How to choose a board Downwind

The DW range was created mainly to practice downwind in all disciplines. Whether you’re rowing, paddling or using a wing, the DW range has been designed for all disciplines Downwind.

The wing foil downwind will be the easiest of all the disciplines, as the wing will be your engine and will require little effort. With 15-20 knots of wind you can start downwinding. If you are looking for maximum stability to start and progress, we recommend using the DW 7’2W which is wider and will give you more stability.

If you are experienced, the DW 7’2 will be more appropriate for your level unless you are over 90 kg, in which case opt for the DW 7’2 W.

Prone or sup foil Downwind , will require more experience and background in paddling or surffoil. The gait is identical to the oar and/or in prone, the DW 7’2W will make it easier to take off and will require less technique and effort.

On the other hand, the DW 7’2 will be more slippery, more manoeuvrable and will bring more responsiveness and performance. It will be suitable for small people or experienced riders.

Is it possible to prone with this type of board?

Yes, this type of board can also be adapted for prone. As the board is long and narrow, there is a great glide that allows you to start very early on the swell trains by rowing. In the same way as the LW range, the DW range will bring more glide and allow you to go faster but it will be longer and therefore a little less manoeuvrable.

How to maintain your Downwind board?

We advise you to rinse your equipment well with clean water and not to store it outside or in very hot, very cold or very humid places. Do not open the pressure relief screw on the DW. It’s a goretex valve. So there’s no need to touch it. But common sense prevails. Like you wouldn’t leave your phone in direct sunlight in the car. The same goes for your board. The temperature rises to over 75°C in a car in direct sunlight. For equipment to last a long time, maintain it and avoid subjecting it to heavy shocks or high temperatures.

We provide a high-end cover to protect your favorite board.

How long does it take to deliver a board from foil Sroka?

Allow 24 hours for order preparation, and one to three working days for delivery in mainland France.

Are Downwind DW Sroka boards guaranteed?

Yes. All foil Sroka wing boards come with a two-year warranty.

For this range, we use the best materials and the best construction on the market (full carbon and PVC carbon sandwich under the pads, with 3 layers of carbon on the rails) so as not to make disposable products, but durable, high-performance ones.

How strong is the wind for wingfoil sailing with this type of downwind board?

If you are equipped with the right powerful, high-performance 6 or 7 m2 wing with a 1350cm2 foil, you can expect to make 5 knots of constant wind for an 80kg weight and a little technique.

With a smaller 950 HA S type foil, you can make 10 knots.

What size light wind board should I choose for Wingfoil riding?

Don’t overestimate yourself.

If you’re under 75 kg, start on the 5’7 LW unless you’re an expert.
If you’re around 85 kg, start on the 6’2 LW
If you’re over 95 kg, start on the 6’6 LW.

Are these boards suitable for beginners? Wing foil ?

The DW is designed for the resourceful/experienced riders who are looking for an early start. If you’re just starting out, we advise you to choose another range of wing boards foil more suited to your level (the Sky Rider range).

The 6′ and 6’4 (144 and 155L) inflatable boards are ideal for beginners. Those who want a high-performance board to take with them wherever they go will opt for the 5’3 (120L).

To start winging foil, you need a board with volume and, above all, a little width. Don’t overestimate yourself. For those weighing less than 70kg, you can opt for the 5’5 or 5’4 Sky Rider 90L. From 70 to 80, 5’7 or 5’8. Otherwise 6’0 or 6’3.
