After several tens of hours of testing and numerous prototypes, we are delighted to present our brand new foil: the S-Foil 950 HA Speed! Composed of the new 950 High Aspect Speed front wing and the new 240 stabilizer, this combo will not leave you indifferent. We took the time to study all variables to offer you a high-performance and quality plug-and-play product.
What performance for this new foil?
Our aim was to develop an ultra-fast, very stable foil with unparalleled gliding sensations. This is a foil with which you can ride large swell trains without limits. Whether it's for Wingfoil, Surf foil, Kitefoil or SUPfoil, the 950 HA Speed will become your new favorite foil wing.
The S-Foil HA 950 Speed is also extremely reactive. Thanks to its 100% carbon structure (not foamed), this wing is unbreakable. It provides maximum rigidity and therefore reactivity. What we are looking for above all is precision in foot pressure to have maximum control in turns.
This is a very accessible foil. You will have no difficulty taming it as it is plug and play. We developed it so that you don't have any additional adjustments to make. You could say the foil is "self-adjusting".
Features of the S-Foil 950 HA Speed
High aspect ratio: the high aspect ratio of the wing provides unparalleled flight efficiency. It will allow you to be very fast and enjoy excellent glide.
Low relative thickness: thanks to its low thickness, the wing will provide exceptional glide and beautiful speed peaks above 26 knots.
The chord: the 14.5 cm chord gives enough tolerance to the foil for easy and accessible planing starts.
Refined tips: the wing tips have been designed to be sufficiently refined to gain maneuverability.
The new 240 (cm2) stabilizer has also been completely designed for optimal performance. The span is reduced, and the chord and thickness have also been decreased. This new stabilizer is therefore more playful and more maneuverable (compatible with all foils in the classic and high aspect Sroka range).
The glide ratio of the S-Foil 950 HA Speed
The new S-Foil 950 HA Speed has an excellent glide ratio, but what does glide ratio mean in foiling?
You could compare it to a glider. The glide ratio is the distance the glider will travel without any propulsion. In foiling, it's the same principle: it's the distance the foil will travel once launched, without any further momentum.
A foil wing with a high aspect ratio will have a higher glide ratio. This is explained by the significant elongation of the wing, with an 85 cm span for the 950. The higher the aspect ratio, the greater the glide ratio, but you will lose maneuverability.
So it's up to you to choose how you want to ride. With a high aspect ratio, you'll put in less effort to cover the same distance, your foil will accelerate longer, but it will be less maneuverable and more technical.
