Where to go Wing Foil in Martinique

Is Martinique a wing paradise foil?
The French Caribbean island of Martinique is a true tropical gem. Nestled in the heart of the Lesser Antilles, it offers a paradise-like setting of fine sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters and lush vegetation. But beyond its idyllic landscapes, Martinique is also an ideal playground for water sports enthusiasts. Among them, wing foil stands out.
This discipline combines the glide of surfing, the power of kitesurfing and the lightness of foil. Imagine yourself soaring over the water, propelled by the wind, in an enchanting setting. Martinique, with its well-suited spots and tropical climate, is the perfect place to learn or perfect this unique discipline.

The most beautiful Wing Foil spots in Martinique
1. Le Vauclin
Le Vauclin is an excellent spot for wing foil in Martinique. It offers warm waters and a steady trade wind, ideal for learning and progressing. The Pointe Faula spot is particularly suitable. You’ll find a flat, sandy bottom and a wide body of water accessible to all levels. UCPA offers a one-week course in Le Vauclin, with 10 wingfoil sessions supervised by an instructor. This is an ideal opportunity for those with previous water sports experience. For a bite to eat, I recommend Chez Henri, located on Route des Salines, where you can enjoy delicious French and Caribbean cuisine.
2. L’Anse Michel
Anse Michel is another popular spot for wing foil in Martinique. Its wind is rather onshore, which makes for comfortable sailing. For a bite to eat, Le Cocotier is a recommended restaurant, offering a magnificent view over the beach.

3. Sainte-Anne (La Baie des Anglais):
Sainte-Anne offers a variety of spots for wing foil. L’Anse du Belley is well suited to sustained trade winds. You can also explore Les Trois-Îlets on the west coast. Beware of obstacles at sea. For a bite to eat, Chez Nadiege et Serge is a restaurant renowned for its local dishes and friendly atmosphere.
4. Cap Chevalier:
For Cap Chevalier, I couldn’t find a specific wingfoil school, but you can explore the other spots mentioned above. For a bite to eat, try Le Beach Resto Des Salines or Le Panier à Salade in Sainte-Anne, which are close to Cap Chevalier.
Special features of Martinique for Wing Foil
Martinique enjoys a trade wind blowing from the northeast. The trade winds are steady and gentle, providing ideal conditions for safe wing foil.
The trade winds are from December to July. This is the best season for wing foil in Martinique. Air and sea temperatures are pleasant, reaching around 27°C during the windy period (December to April).
The best-known spots are on the South Atlantic coast, between Le Vauclin and Anse Michel, as well as on Sainte-Anne. The wind is side-onshore, making for comfortable sailing. Martinique is much more than a dream destination for wing enthusiasts foil. It’s a true paradise where you can combine gliding, discovery and relaxation. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced kiteboarder, the warm waters, constant trade winds and breathtaking scenery make Martinique the perfect place to practice this unique sport. So get your kite ready, adjust your foil and let yourself be carried away by the magic of gliding in the heart of the Caribbean!
As with the sun, prolonged exposure to strong winds and sand can accelerate wear and tear on your wing. This is why, in strong winds, the trailing edge of your wing flaps in the wind, prematurely damaging it. What’s more, when the sand flies (in tramontana conditions in the south of France, for example), the sand hits the wing. The sand then acts like sandpaper on your wing foil or kite surf kite.
