Goulien: the westernmost wingfoil spot in Finistère
Located at the end of the world, in the commune of Crozon, Goulien beach is a renowned wing foil spot. Easy to access, it is one of the largest beaches in Crozon. Goulien beach benefits from north-westerly and south-westerly winds. On days when the wind comes more from the South, you can move closer to Kersiguénou beach or Kerloc’h beach. This way you can enjoy more stable wind conditions. On days when the conditions are right, the waves grow and the beach turns into a great surf and surf foil spot. The waves can be large, but it remains a relatively easy and accessible spot, even in big conditions.
Be careful though, during the summer, you will have to share the spot with many bathers enjoying it. This is not a problem for wing foil as bathers stay close to the shore.
Roscanvel, on the Crozon peninsula on the harbor side.
Located on the harbor side of the Crozon peninsula, this spot is perfect for anyone who wants to learn wing foil or navigate on flat water. Perfectly isolated from large swells, this spot will allow you to progress or improve your skills on flat water. Even with 35 knots of wind, the spot will remain flat in almost all conditions.
At this site, we have set up a SROKA school dedicated to wingfoil as well as a SROKA test center, where you can try all available products. Whether you are looking for an event or a turnkey experience, everything is planned to meet your needs. For more information, visit www.wingfoil-crozon.com.
La Laïta, the wingfoil spot at the border of Southern Finistère
Located on the border between Southern Finistère and Morbihan, the Laïta river is a wingfoil spot with many advantages. For flat water enthusiasts, it is possible to wingfoil in the Laïta basin just behind. If you prefer waves, Guidel beach (in Morbihan) will make you happy. Finally, for those looking for more swell, simply go a little further offshore. To access this spot, you can start from Le Pouldu at the parking lot of Boulevard de la Laïta, or you can start from Guidel-Plage.
It is possible to foil in all orientations. However, to avoid irregular winds, the ideal is to go there when the wind is from the South-West. Be careful though, in case of high coefficients, the currents can be quite strong. Finally, we advise you to go there when the tide is high or almost high. Indeed, at low tide and mid-tide, there is not enough depth to foil and the currents are quite numerous and strong.
Le Dossen and Les 3 Moutons: the two best wingfoil spots in Northern Finistère
Described as one of the best wave spots in northern Finistère, Le Dossen in Santec is a great wingfoil spot for anyone looking for thrilling sensations. The wind is mostly from the Northwest or Southwest. This white sand beach hosts waves up to 4 meters (offshore) on days with big conditions.
During the summer, the beach is divided into several zones, allowing bathers, foilers, and kitesurfers to enjoy their activity in peace.
The 3 Moutons spot in Tréompan definitely deserves its place in the top 5 best wingfoil spots in Finistère. The spot has become popular thanks to its small waves, making it perfect for wingfoil beginners. With a northwest wind, it's a spot that offers all the conditions to fully enjoy the sensations of foiling.
Good to know: the sea recedes significantly at low tide. Don't be afraid to walk with your equipment if you want to get in the water before it rises.
Wingfoiling in Finistère: The Bay of Brest
The Bay of Brest is an endless spot for wingfoiling in Finistère. You won't run out of space! It's a great wing foil spot for beginners and experienced riders alike when wind conditions are stronger. The most enjoyable way to foil here is with a south or southwest wind. It's certainly possible to wingfoil with other wind directions, but the wind will be more irregular.
There are many access points. For example, you can start from Moulin Blanc beach in Brest. It's a large white sand beach with easily accessible parking on its left. However, it's worth noting that in summer, the parking fills up very quickly and swimming areas are set up.
The slipway near Océanopolis is another very popular access point for wing foil enthusiasts. The launch is convenient, and you'll easily find parking nearby.
Finally, for those not afraid of rocks, Kernisi beach in Plougastel is an excellent starting point for foiling throughout the Bay of Brest. It's the Sroka team's favorite starting point. It allows for easy departures in all directions. However, we advise against it when the wind blows from the North, as it will be more difficult to leave the beach.
BONUS: Penfoul, the ideal spot for Surf Foil in Northern Finistère
Penfoul beach in Landunvez will delight surf foil lovers. Already known as a great surf spot, Penfoul has become over time one of the favorite spots for surf foilers. Benefiting from a North-West swell, Penfoul is suitable for surf foil beginners, however the beach also offers beautiful waves for the more experienced when conditions are favorable.
