Goulien: the westernmost wingfoil spot in Finistère
Located at the edge of the world, in the town of Crozon, Goulien beach is a renowned wing foiling spot. Easily accessible, it's one of the largest beaches in Crozon. Goulien beach benefits from northwest and southwest winds. On days when the wind is more southerly, you can head to Kersiguénou beach or Kerloc'h beach. This way, you can enjoy more stable wind conditions. On days when the conditions are right, the waves get bigger and the beach transforms into a fantastic spot for surfing and foil surfing. The waves can be large, but it remains a relatively easy and accessible spot, even in big conditions.
Be aware, however, that during the summer months you will have to share the spot with the many swimmers who come to enjoy it. This isn't a problem for wing foiling since the swimmers stay close to the shore.
Roscanvel, on the Crozon peninsula, harbor side.
Located on the harbor side of the Crozon peninsula, this spot is perfect for anyone wanting to learn wing foiling or sail on flat water. Perfectly sheltered from large swells, this spot allows you to progress or improve your skills on flat water. Even with 35 knots of wind, the spot will remain flat in almost all conditions.
On this site, we have set up a SROKA school dedicated to wingfoiling, as well as a SROKA test center where you can try out all the available products. La Laïta, the wingfoil spot on the border of South Finistère
Located on the border between southern Finistère and Morbihan, the Laïta River is a wingfoil spot with many advantages. For flat water enthusiasts, it's possible to wingfoil in the Laïta basin just behind the river. If you prefer waves, the beach at Guidel (in Morbihan) will be perfect. Finally, for those looking for more swell, simply head a little further out. To access this spot, you can launch from Le Pouldu at the parking lot on Boulevard de la Laïta, or from Guidel-Plage.
Foiling is possible in all wind directions. However, to avoid gusty winds, it's best to go when the wind is from the southwest. Be aware that during high tides, the currents can be quite strong. Finally, we recommend going at or near high tide. At low and mid-tide, there isn't enough depth for foiling, and the currents are often strong and numerous.
Le Dossen and Les 3 Moutons: the two best wingfoil spots in North Finistère
Described as one of the best wave spots in northern Finistère, Le Dossen in Santec is a fantastic wingfoil spot for anyone looking for thrills. The wind is mostly from the northwest or southwest. This white sand beach welcomes waves of up to 4 meters (offshore) on days with big conditions.
During the summer season the beach is divided into several zones which allow bathers, as well as foilers and kitesurfers, to enjoy their activity in complete tranquility.
The 3 Moutons spot in Tréompan easily ranks among the top 5 wingfoil spots in Finistère. Its small waves have made it a popular spot for wingfoil beginners. With a northwesterly wind, it offers all the conditions needed to fully enjoy the thrill of foiling.
Good to know: the sea level drops considerably at low tide. Don't be afraid to walk with your gear if you want to get to the water before the tide comes back in.
Wingfoiling in Finistère: Brest harbor
Brest harbor is an endless spot for wingfoiling in Finistère . You won't run out of space! It's a great wingfoil spot for beginners as well as more experienced riders, especially in stronger wind conditions. The best conditions are when foiling with a south or southwest wind. Of course, it's possible to wingfoil in other directions, but the wind will be more gusty.
There are many access points. For example, you can start from Moulin Blanc beach in Brest. It's a large white sand beach with an easily accessible car park on its left. However, it's worth noting that the car park fills up very quickly during the summer months, and designated swimming areas are set up.
The slipway near Océanopolis is another popular access point for wing foil enthusiasts. Launching is easy, and you'll find parking nearby.
Finally, for those who aren't afraid of rocks, Kernisi beach in Plougastel is an excellent starting point for foiling all around the Brest harbor. It's the Sroka team's favorite launch site. It allows you to easily head out in all directions. However, we advise against it when the wind is blowing from the north, as it will be more difficult to leave the beach.
BONUS: Penfoul, the ideal spot for Surf Foil in North Finistère
