Four parameters set pump foil packages apart in 2026: the mast material and length, the front wing's aspect ratio, the board weight and the modularity of the system. With aluminum masts and comparable beginner wings, the complete packages in this panel range from €1,299 to €2,608. This comparison brings together the figures published by SROKA, Alpine Foil, Indiana, Ketos and AFS.

Transparency: SROKA Company makes pump foil gear and is included in this comparison. Data for the other brands comes from their official websites, collected in September 2026. The limits of our own choices are detailed in the section "Our choices at SROKA, and their limits".

The pump foil is the only foil discipline that is practiced without wind, without waves, without a motor and without a paddle: the rider is the engine. Every gram and every energy loss translates directly into fatigue and distance covered. For the basics of the discipline, see our complete pump foil guide.

What do 2026 pump foil packages include, and at what price?

A pump foil package combines a board and a complete foil: front wing, mast, fuselage and stabilizer. The table below compares packages equipped with an aluminum mast.

Package (aluminum mast) Front wing Aspect ratio Mast Board Price
SROKA Pump Foil Beginner Package HA 2000, approx. 2,000 cm² 9.8 70 cm aluminum, 56 cm fuselage, 180 or 290 HA stabilizer Carbon Pump Board 80 V2 €1,299
SROKA Pump Foil Performance Package Pump Foil 1500, 1750 or 2200 13.2 70 cm aluminum, short 61 cm fuselage, 140 HA stabilizer Carbon Pump Board 80 V2 €1,600, €1,650 with the 2200
Indiana, aluminum package Manta XL, 2,047 cm² 9.5 Aluminum Indiana 105 €2,479
Alpine Foil Pumpfoil Modular Alu + Board Package DK 1240, 1,790 cm² 8.6 75 or 85 cm aluminum Board Pocket From €2,608

Packages with carbon masts: Alpine Foil Pumpfoil Modular Carbon + Board from €3,147, Indiana with a wing from the Condor range at €3,269.

Ketos and AFS also sell packages, which are not detailed here. Their boards and wings appear in the following tables.

Before comparing two prices, check three things: the mast material, its length and the wing included. A price gap only means something when the setups are equivalent.

How do you compare the weight of pump foil boards?

Weight is the first number everyone looks at, and it is also the one that is most often compared badly. A light board is sometimes light simply because it is smaller or narrower. At similar dimensions, the outline, thickness and construction make the difference: always compare weight at equal size.

    Board Dimensions Weight Construction Price
Ketos Skull 80 80 x 34 cm 1.1 kg Prepreg carbon, Airex core, double carbon stringer From €1,299
    Alpine Foil Pocket Pro carbon 78 x 42 78 x 42 cm 1.4 kg Prepreg carbon €1,299
    SROKA Pump Board 80 V2 80 x 39 cm, 6.2 L 1.52 kg Molded prepreg carbon, with stringer €430
    AFS, carbon board 83 x 38.5 cm, 7 L 1.7 kg HR carbon, Corecell core €739
    AFS, Access board 95 x 44 cm, 16 L 2.3 kg Fiberglass, PVC sandwich €569
    Indiana 105 105 x 44 cm, 12.7 L 2.6 kg Not specified €859

Pont concave et grip intégral de la Pump Board 80 V2

The Ketos Skull 80 measures 34 cm wide, the Pump Board 80 V2 39 cm, and the Alpine Foil Pocket Pro 78 x 42 42 cm, for 2 cm less in length. These three boards are therefore not the same size, even though their lengths are close. In this panel, AFS's 83 x 38.5 cm carbon board is the closest to the Pump Board 80 V2 in dimensions.

Construction also affects price: AFS offers a carbon board at €739 and a fiberglass board at €569, which is 600 g heavier.

The real benefit of lightness is twofold. A light board is more responsive under your feet, and it generates less inertia in the foil's oscillations. In pumping, inertia is a direct energy loss: with every pump, you lift the board. The lighter it is, the less you spend for the same result.

Is a carbon mast stiffer than an aluminum mast?

Not necessarily. Carbon has become an automatic selling point, and that is a misleading shortcut.

A mast's stiffness depends on its construction, its layup and the thickness of its profile, not on the material alone. A good, rigid aluminum mast will outperform a flexible carbon mast, at a significantly lower price.

At equal profile thickness, drag is identical regardless of material. Water does not know what the mast is made of: it only sees its shape. A carbon mast only brings a real gain if it allows a thinner profile at equal stiffness, or a significant weight reduction.

Indiana, moreover, reserves the Condor XL, the wing with which Nicolas Iten set the world pumping record of 4 h 02, for use with aluminum masts only, with no guarantee for carbon masts.

The right question to ask: what stiffness and what profile thickness, for what price. Not "carbon or aluminum".

Which front wing aspect ratio should you choose for pump foil?

Aspect ratio is the ratio between the wingspan and the average chord. A long, narrow wing has a high aspect ratio: it glides further and retains its energy better between pumps. A stockier wing has a low aspect ratio: it takes off early, turns better and is more forgiving.

Modular platform or monoblock wing: what is the difference?

Two philosophies coexist on the market, and they affect your budget beyond the first purchase.

The common platform. The mast, fuselage and stabilizer stay identical from one practice to another, and only the front wing changes. This is SROKA's approach, whose Pump Foil wings fit all S-Foil fuselages, and Alpine Foil's approach with its Modular range. The advantage: you upgrade your foil by buying a wing, not a complete foil. The trade-off: more joints and hardware, and wings designed for a standard fuselage rather than for a single program.

The monoblock wing. Part of the fuselage is integrated into the wing molding, as on the monoblock versions of Indiana's Condor range. Indiana highlights increased torsional stiffness, fewer screws and less drag. The trade-off: each wing carries its own portion of fuselage, which raises its unit cost, and the junction area concentrates loads, which requires reinforcement there.

Neither approach is better in absolute terms. If you plan to upgrade your gear or practice several disciplines, the common platform is more economical over time. If you only pump and are looking for the optimum on a single wing, the monoblock has its advantages.

How much does a complete pump foil cost?

Complete foils with aluminum masts: SROKA Pump Foil 1500-2200 Complete Foil at €1,350 (wing of your choice, 70 cm mast, 56 fuselage, 180 stabilizer, plate and bag included), Alpine Foil Modular Alu from €1,474.

Complete foils with carbon masts: Alpine Foil Modular Carbon 75 cm from €1,809.

For boards alone, prices range from €430 to €1,299 in this panel (see the board table).

Our choices at SROKA, and their limits

We made three design choices. Here is what they bring, and what they do not.

A carbon board at an attractive price. The Pump Board 80 V2 is molded, made of prepreg carbon with a stringer. At 1.52 kg for 80 x 39 cm, it is one of the lightest production boards on the market at equivalent size, sold for €430. At very similar dimensions, it is lighter than AFS's carbon board (83 x 38.5 cm, 1.7 kg). It remains heavier than Ketos's Skull 80, which is narrower, and than Alpine Foil's Pocket Pro 78 x 42, which is wider and shorter.

A rigid aluminum mast. Our packages use a 70 cm aluminum mast. This choice allows high-end construction at an attractive price: €1,299 for the beginner package, €1,600 for the performance package (€1,650 with the 2200 wing). The limit: we do not yet offer a package with a carbon mast.

A common platform. Our Pump Foil wings fit all S-Foil fuselages. The 1750 and 1500 wings are also used for wing foil or parawing in very light wind, on a wing foil or parawing board, and the 1750 for SUP foil on small swell. The same board and foil can finally be used for pump foil parawing: as soon as a little wind picks up, you add a parawing and alternate between pumping and sailing. The limit: a wing on a common platform does not integrate the fuselage like a monoblock wing does.

Our pump foil boards and wings are designed and tested in Brittany by Bruno Sroka and his team. The Pump Foil 2200 wing has already enabled flights of more than 3 hours, and it also suits heavier riders.

Which pump foil package should you choose based on your profile?

If you are a beginner, choose a wing with an aspect ratio between 8.5 and 10, with an area close to 2,000 cm², and a rigid aluminum mast of 70 to 75 cm. In this panel, three packages fit this profile: SROKA HA 2000 at €1,299, Indiana Manta XL at €2,479 and Alpine Foil DK 1240 from €2,608.

If you are aiming for distance and performance, choose a wing with an aspect ratio above 12. Ketos, Alpine Foil, SROKA and Indiana all offer some, with more glide between pumps but more demands at the start.

If you plan to upgrade your gear or practice several disciplines, modularity will save you more than any discount at the time of purchase.

Finally, demand the numbers. Wingspan, aspect ratio, area, weight, material and mast length: these data make a direct comparison possible. Profile thickness completes the picture, since it indicates drag and potential stiffness, but it says nothing about how lift is distributed along the wingspan: it is never read on its own. Data that is not published is data you cannot compare.

    A word from Bruno Sroka

Portrait de Bruno Sroka, fondateur de SROKA Company

In a market as young as pump foil, technical specifications must be read methodically. An isolated figure means nothing: it is the coherence of the whole, mast, aspect ratio, weight and modularity, that determines whether a piece of gear takes you far or wears you out. And a price can only be compared between equivalent setups.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the best pump foil package in 2026?

There is no best package in absolute terms: it all depends on your level. To learn, choose a package with an aluminum mast and a wing with an aspect ratio between 8.5 and 10, priced between €1,299 and €2,608 in this panel. For distance, choose a wing above 12 aspect ratio.

How much does a complete pump foil package cost in 2026?

In this panel, packages with aluminum masts cost from €1,299 to €2,608. Packages with carbon masts cost from €3,147 to €3,269.

What aspect ratio should you choose to start pump foiling?

Between 8.5 and 10, with an area close to 2,000 cm². A high-aspect-ratio wing glides better but is less forgiving of placement errors, which makes learning the dockstart harder.

Is a carbon mast really stiffer than an aluminum mast?

Not necessarily. Stiffness depends on construction and profile thickness, not on material alone. A good, rigid aluminum mast outperforms a flexible carbon mast, at a significantly lower price.

Why can't you directly compare board weights?

Because a light board is sometimes light simply because it is smaller or narrower. Weight can only be compared at equal size, taking into account the outline, thickness and construction.

    What is a monoblock wing?

It is a wing where part of the fuselage is integrated into the molding. It gains torsional stiffness and reduces the number of screws. On the downside, its unit cost is higher and the junction area requires reinforcement.

    Does modularity really save money?

It changes the cost of upgrading. With a common platform, you only buy a new front wing when your level progresses or when you switch disciplines, instead of a complete foil.

What mast length is best for pump foil?

70 to 75 cm is the standard for the discipline: it makes starts easier and requires less precision in trim. 85 cm is more forgiving of touch-downs and handles chop better, but it is more demanding and creates drag if you do not fly high enough.
